AWE Tuning Performance Downpipe - With Metal Cat

The AWE Tuning Performance Downpipe features an integrated resonator to keep the exhaust sound volume civilized even with the elimination of the very restrictive factory converters. Our downpipe is the first performance downpipe to be released that will not trigger a Check Engine Light on your 2.0T car, even on factory software.

Additional sound level tuning

The factory unit contains a fairly large resonator. By replacing this large piece with a more compact but still straight through resonator, we were able to increase sound volume while adding a slightly deeper tone. Testing showed small power increases in adding the downpipe with stock software, while power is further optimized with AWE Tuning Performance Exhaust and Stage 2 Performance Software. The AWE Tuning Performance Downpipe will mate to our exhaust system or any other exhaust designed to work with the stock downpipe.

Precision Welding

As with all AWE Tuning ® exhaust products, each weld is hand finished internally, only butt-welded junctions are used, and flange openings are size matched to their ports, all to produce the smoothest flow possible. Have a 2013 GLI? Be sure to check your engine code (here's how) to ensure correct fitment on your vehicle. Certain engine types feaure different downpipe fitments, so let’s be sure this will fit yours.
